K’Nex day!

We had a fantastic surprise on Wednesday- a team from Festomane arrived at school, to teach us all about pneumatics (just ask us what it means!). We had great fun using the K’Nex to construct models, and we were able to incorporate our pneumatic designs into our planning.

All props are go!

The class have been hard at work creating the props for ‘Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies!’

They have been designing programmes and scenery, as well as smaller sized props which you will see in the next couple of weeks!

Pancake day

In literacy, we have been looking at how to write and follow instructions. We put our knowledge to the test and followed a recipe to make pancakes…they were very successful!

DT construction challenge

Today Goshawks took part in a construction challenge, consisting of marshmallows and cocktail sticks. The children were in groups of 4/5, and had to create the highest structure they could manage. The winning team was Lola, Grace, Albert and Archie, who built a model of 29cm, well done! The two winners of the best-designed model were Max, Cameron, Harry and Zach’s group, and Niamh, Lily W, Anna and Sofia’s group. Well done to all, and thank you to Mr Rimmer for judging the competition!
